Join our new program supporting young people across Darling Downs. You’ll be part of a service that works closely with local Hospital and Health Services to deliver an integrated model of care, combining clinical insight with psychosocial support.

As a Psychosocial Youth Worker, you’ll deliver coordinated, person-centred support that helps young people thrive in their recovery journey. You’ll work within an integrated service model that combines clinical expertise with holistic, non-clinical interventions to promote functional recovery for young people and their families. Embedded alongside local Hospital and Health Service early psychosis teams, you’ll play a vital role in providing cooperative, youth-focused care across the region.

Responsibilities

- Connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, CALD and LGBTQIA+ individuals, and those at risk of homelessness or suicide.
- Support capacity building, wellbeing skills, and psychoeducation and co-facilitate psychosocial group sessions and outreach activities.
- Support clients by linking them to services such as physical activities, housing, care coordination and re-engagement with education, employment and day-to-day living
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with individuals from all walks of life.
- Implement knowledge of ethical considerations around confidentiality and professional boundaries.

Requirements

- Experience as a Youth Worker or similar role in health, social or community services.
- Background in mental health and familiarity with trauma-informed practice and local services and support networks
- Current Driver Licence
- Current Blue Card
- Current National Police Check
- A Certificate IV in relative field
