About the Opportunity
We have an exciting role for a Receptionist and Administration Officer to join us at Gleeson College, commencing ASAP! To support the absence of a staff member, this position is being offered on a Fixed-Term Replacement contract. During your time with us, you will be an integral part of the Front Office team. At the reception desk of our College, you will welcome visitors, parents, suppliers and many others to our front desk; answer and transfer calls; and review and forward emails sent to the College.
This position is 27.5 hours/week (9am to 3pm) during school term time only until the end of the school year (11 December 2026). An Administration Grade 2 Education Support Officer will receive an hourly rate of $35.18 - $37.21 (2024-2025 rates).
Hours per week and start/end times are negotiable for the successful candidate.
Your Responsibilities:
As our Receptionist and Administration Officer, you will:
- Create a warm and professional first impression by welcoming students, families, staff, visitors and external providers, and assisting them with care and confidence.
- Respond to phone, email and in-person enquiries with efficiency, directing people to the right staff member, service or information.
- Support the smooth running of the Front Office through accurate administrative tasks, record keeping, visitor sign-ins and use of College systems.
You:
- Have excellent customer service skills that align with our values; exemplify professionalism, bring a positive attitude, and have a collaborative, relational and respectful spirit.
- Proficient computer skills particularly using Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook) and databases, and operating a range of general office equipment.
Financial/payroll software skills and experience is desirable.
- Have a Certificate III in Administration, Business or equivalent, and/or demonstrated expertise or capabilities in a similar capacity.
- Have the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
- Are willing to support the ethos of our Catholic College in line with the Gleeson 10 and Gleeson Staff 5 values.
- Are available to undergo our screening process, which includes a Working with Children Check, E-Screen, Applicant Declaration Form and completed RRHAN-EC training
