Oakvale Wildlife Park
Salt Ash
Oakvale Wildlife Park is a family-run, 100% Australian-owned wildlife park set on 25 acres in Salt Ash, Port Stephens. For over 40 years we've cared for native and exotic animals, from koalas and kangaroos to red pandas. Animal welfare and conservation sit at the heart of everything we do. We're looking for people to join us who share that passion.
Do you light up a room (or an amphitheatre) when you talk about wildlife? As our Educator, you'll be the voice of our conservation mission, delivering engaging animal presentations, running school programs, and sparking curiosity in visitors of every age.
It's a role where your passion for wildlife and the environment gets to shine every day, and where you'll help shape how the next generation sees and values our native animals.
What you'll do:
- Deliver engaging, informative wildlife presentations and shows to park visitors
- Facilitate school group excursions and structured educational programs
- Confidently present to and engage audiences of all ages, from toddlers to teachers
- Support protected, respectful animal handling and interactions during presentations
- Champion Oakvale's conservation and sustainability message in every interaction
What we're looking for:
- Confidence and warmth speaking to groups, indoors and out
- A genuine passion for wildlife, conservation and environmental education
- Experience with public speaking, teaching, tour guiding or similar is a plus
- Flexibility to work weekends, school holidays and some weekdays for school visits
- A collaborative attitude and willingness to learn animal handling protocols on the job
Applications close 31st August 2026
Due to an expected high volume of applications, only successful applicants will be contacted.
