The Opportunity:

In this hands on role, you will undertake a broad range of horticultural and landscaping activities, including mowing, pruning, planting, weed control, mulching, fertilising, and turf maintenance.

You will assist with the maintenance of ornamental gardens, lawns, hedges, and feature landscapes to a high presentation standard, while safely operating and maintaining horticultural equipment, machinery, and irrigation systems.

The role also supports seasonal planting programs, landscape improvement projects, weed, pest and disease management utilising physical, biological and chemical control methods, and general labouring activities to ensure Council's public spaces remain safe, attractive, and well maintained for the community.

About you:

To be successful in this role you will hold a Certificate III in Horticulture or related discipline and hold contemporary industry knowledge with demonstrated experience in general gardening, grounds and turf maintenance and landscaping practices.

You will be a productive and reliable team member, with a strong safety mindset, good interpersonal skills, and a commitment to delivering quality service to the community.

You will also hold an MR licence.

Whilst not essential, a HR drivers licence and traffic control tickets would be highly regarded.

Advantages:

This is a full time, permanent role working a 38-hour week, with a base salary range of $65,652 to $72,874 per year based on demonstrated competencies + allowances + 12% super.
