Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent, the Rehabilitation/Civil Engineer’s key responsibilities include supporting the planning, design and compliance of rehabilitation activities in accordance with the Safety and Health management system.
Core requirements of the role include facilitation and management of the design, scheduling and quality control of rehabilitation activities (including but not limited to, civil drainage, bulk dozer push, truck shovel and tailings capping designs), completing site inspections and developing solutions for site challenges.
Additionally, the Rehabilitation/Civil Engineer will engage with other stakeholders and support the ongoing improvement of site process.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Delivery of the Short-Term Schedule.
- Providing consistent support to all departments onsite and delivering engineering designs that contribute to a self-sustaining, non-polluting landform for closure.
- Undertaking reconciliations of design against as-built outcomes.
- Preparing construction reports.
- Managing of external service providers.
Requirements for the role include:
- A high-level of proficiency in Deswik, CAD, 12D or Vulcan (or transferable design skills from a similar modelling software), Microsoft 365 suite and an operational understanding of GIS.
- Tertiary qualifications in mining/civil engineering, and/or equivalent relevant knowledge and experience.
- Dozer push, truck and shovel experience is preferable but not essential.
- Functional knowledge of rehabilitation requirements and/or civil engineering design is also preferable but not essential.
- Operational knowledge of Python, C++ or C# and utilising AI tools is also preferrable but not essential.
