Why this role matters

The Salvation Army (Salvos) Doorways model of care provides holistic financial support to individuals and families seeking short term financial assistance and ongoing financial management support services. The Doorways Team provide person-centred trauma informed care, facilitate short-term financial assistance, and walk side-by-side with participants as they build the skills and knowledge to break the cycle of poverty.

About the role

As a Case Worker for our Doorways program, you will provide compassionate, person-centred support to individuals and families experiencing hardship or complex life challenges. Working collaboratively with clients, you will assess their needs, develop tailored support plans, and connect them with services that help improve their wellbeing and independence. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to empower people, foster hope, and create lasting positive change in their lives.

Reporting to the Regional Manager, this is a permanent part-time position, 30.4 hours per week, based on-site in Shepparton, VIC.

Conditions

Compensation is in accordance with Social Community Home Care and Disability Services Award (SCHADS) Level 4.

How you will make an impact

- Collaborate with Church Leaders, Volunteers, Mission Leaders, and community stakeholders to deliver integrated Doorways services and strengthen local partnerships
- Assess community members' needs, strengths, and circumstances to identify appropriate support and service pathways
- Develop and implement strengths-based case plans that support goal achievement, independence, and self-determination




- Provide early intervention and practical support to individuals and families experiencing financial hardship and disadvantage
- Deliver case management and ongoing support for people facing long-term disadvantage, complex needs, and generational poverty

What you will bring

- Degree level qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or other Community/Human Services discipline is highly desirable
- Or a Diploma and a minimum of 2 years relevant experience in the community services sector would be considered
- A current VIC Employee Working with Children Check
