About the role

Troys Transport Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled and reliable Truck & Dog Driver to join our team on a casual full time. This position is based in Toowoomba, QLD, and offers flexibility for those seeking variable work arrangements in the road transport industry. As a Truck & Dog Driver, you will be responsible for safely operating articulated vehicles (truck and dog combinations) to transport quarry material across various routes. This role is essential to our operations, whilst maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism.

Key responsibilities

- Operating truck and dog tipper combinations safely and efficiently in accordance with all relevant road transport regulations and company policies

- Conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the truck and dog are roadworthy and safe for operation

- Transporting quarry material to designated locations, adhering to delivery schedules and route instructions

- Loading and unloading the loading and unloading process, ensuring goods are secured appropriately

- Maintaining accurate logbooks and trip records, including fuel consumption, kilometres travelled, and delivery confirmations

- Communicating with dispatch and management regarding delivery status, vehicle issues, and any delays or incidents

- Performing routine vehicle maintenance tasks such as checking fluid levels, tyres, and lights

- Adhering to hours of service regulations and fatigue management requirements to ensure road safety

- Maintaining a professional demeanour with clients, dispatchers, and colleagues at all times

What we're looking for

- Articulated (HC) driver's licence with a clean driving record

- Proven experience operating truck and dog tipper combinations or similar articulated vehicles

- Current, valid National Police Clearance (or willingness to obtain one)





- Competency in pre-trip vehicle inspections and basic vehicle maintenance

- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations, fatigue management laws, and transport compliance requirements

- Excellent communication and time management skills

- Physical fitness to perform loading, unloading, and manual handling tasks as required

- Reliability and punctuality in meeting delivery schedules and commitments

A proactive approach to identifying and reporting vehicle defects or safety concerns
