Dashing Designer Dogs is seeking an experienced dog groomer to join our established salon in Mornington.
We are looking for someone who can confidently complete professional grooms from start to finish and who takes pride in producing consistent, high-quality work while maintaining excellent animal welfare standards.
This is not a trainee position. The successful applicant will need solid practical grooming experience and the ability to work independently within a busy skilled salon environment.
About the Role
The role will include:
- Completing full clips, breed-style trims, bath and tidy services and de-shedding treatments
- Assessing coat condition and selecting appropriate grooming techniques
- Working confidently with a range of breeds, coat types, sizes and temperaments
- Communicating clearly with clients about grooming requirements and realistic outcomes
- Maintaining accurate appointment timing and salon records
- Supporting a calm, organised and welfare-focused salon environment
- Following salon hygiene, safety and animal-handling procedures
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has proven commercial dog grooming experience
- Can complete most grooms independently from preparation through to finishing
- Is confident with clipping, scissoring, styling, bathing, drying and coat preparation
- Understands safe, humane and welfare-focused handling
- Works efficiently without compromising quality or the comfort of the dog
- Is reliable, professional and able to communicate well with clients and colleagues
- Is willing to work as part of a team and contribute positively to the salon
- Has a genuine interest in continuing to develop their grooming skills
Formal grooming qualifications are welcomed but practical experience, grooming ability and professional standards will be the most important considerations.
