What do we look for in a clerk?
We are looking for talented, well-rounded, imaginative and hard-working individuals from diverse backgrounds and ideas to join us.
Our aim is to provide individuals with the opportunities and support they need to reach their full potential. Academic results are important but to be a future lawyer in our firm you need to demonstrate talent and skill in a variety of areas.
Clerkship dates
- Summer: January 2027 - February 2027 (4-week duration)
- Winter: June 2027 - July 2027 (4-week duration)

To be eligible to apply for the K&L; Gates clerkship program, you must be a law student, in your penultimate or final year of study at university. You must hold full Australian working rights and be available for an in-person clerkship program and able to commence an in-person graduate position in March 2028.
