Production Supervisor – Food Manufacturing

About the Role
Australian Quality Condiments is seeking an experienced, hands-onProduction Supervisor to lead our production team.
This is not a desk-based management role—you'll be actively involved in production, working alongside the team while ensuring operations run safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards. You'll coach and support team members, oversee daily production activities, solve problems as they arise and drive continuous improvement throughout the factory.

Monday to Thursday
6:00am – 4:00pm

· Hourly rate: $35.00–$40.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience.
Reports to: GeneralManager
Key Responsibilities
Safety
Lead by example in maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring compliance with Workplace Health & Safety requirements.
Promote protected manual handling practices and correct use of equipment.
Identify hazards and implement corrective actions to minimise risk.
Ensure all team members follow safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
Production
Supervise daily production activities to ensure production targets are achieved.
Coordinate labour and production schedules to maximise efficiency.
Support the team by working alongside them as required.
Monitor workflow and adjust priorities to keep production running smoothly.
Troubleshoot production issues and minimise downtime.
Quality & Food Safety
Ensure all products are manufactured to company specifications and customer expectations.
Maintain compliance with Food Safety, GMP and HACCP requirements.
Complete and verify production documentation accurately.
Support internal and external audits.
Promote a strong food safety culture throughout the team.
Leadership & Training
Lead, motivate and support the production team.
Train new employees and continue developing existing team members.
Foster accountability, teamwork and a positive workplace culture.
Conduct regular coaching and provide constructive feedback.
Assist with performance management where required.
Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality and efficiency.
Assist in developing and improving Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Help reduce waste and improve production flow.
Inventory & Housekeeping
Assist with stocktakes and inventory accuracy.
Monitor raw materials and work-in-progress.
Ensure production areas remain clean, organised and audit-ready.
Verify completion of cleaning and sanitation schedules.
Communication
Maintain effective communication between production, quality and management.
Escalate issues promptly and work collaboratively to resolve them.
Keep accurate production records and provide operational updates.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who enjoys leading from the front and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves.
You’ll ideally have:
Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment.
Experience supervising or leading production teams.
Strong understanding of Food Safety, GMP, HACCP and Workplace Health & Safety.
Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
A proactive, practical approach with a focus on continuous improvement.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
The ability to remain calm and organised in a fast-paced environment.
Confidence using production paperwork and computer systems.
A current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
A current forklift licence, or willingness to obtain one (required)
Current manual driver's licence. Must be comfortable driving our small manual delivery truck (no truck licence required).

Physical Requirements
This is a physically active role and applicants must be comfortable:
Lifting and carrying up to20kg .
Standing and walking for extended periods.
Working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
