Osborne Richardson is assisting Wyndham City Council with a Facilities Maintenance Supervisor to take ownership of a portfolio of council-owned buildings.

About the role

This role sits at the coalface of Council's facilities operations. You'll manage the day-to-day functionality of a portfolio of occupied and semi-occupied buildings, tackling minor repairs yourself where protected to do so, and directing contractors and facilities staff where it's not. You'll be the go-to for tenants and building occupants, balancing customer service with the practical realities of keeping essential services compliant and buildings fit for purpose.

Expect a genuine mix of field and desk work - condition audits, contractor inspections and site visits alongside budget input, reporting, and accurate work order management through TechnologyOne.

Key responsibilities

- Manage building functionality, amenity and affordability, including hands-on minor repairs where appropriate
- Direct facilities staff and contractors, ensuring high-quality work and OHS compliance
- Support compliance with the Essential Services Act, BCA, and Council's Asset Management Plan
- Maintain accurate records,

work requests and purchase orders via TechnologyOne
- Plan and participate in condition audits across Council buildings
- Develop and maintain Property Information Manuals for your portfolio
- Assist in annual budget creation and ongoing financial cost control

About you

You're a practical problem-solver with solid trade or technical grounding in building systems - whether that's come via a degree/diploma or through hands-on experience in construction or facilities management. You're comfortable juggling multiple sites and priorities, confident supervising contractors, and calm under pressure.

You'll also bring:

- A demonstrated understanding of trades, building elements and construction techniques
- Contract supervisory experience
- Strong budgeting and financial cost control skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and TechnologyOne (or the ability to pick up new systems quickly)
- A current Victorian Driver's Licence, Construction Induction (White) Card, and Working with Children Check
