Our client is a Melbourne-based EPC delivering commercial-scale solar and battery projects across Australia. They're looking for a Solutions Engineer to lead the technical design and delivery of projects from initial concept through to commissioning.
The Role
You'll sit at the intersection of engineering and delivery, translating client requirements into technically sound, commercially viable solar and battery system designs. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants ownership of projects end-to-end, from system design and modelling through to managing delivery on the ground.
What you'll be doing
- Designing commercial-scale solar and battery storage solutions to meet client and site requirements
- Producing system layouts, single-line diagrams, and performance modelling
- Managing technical scoping and specification for tenders and proposals
- Working with the sales team to support client-facing technical discussions
- Overseeing project delivery, liaising with installation and construction teams to ensure designs are executed correctly
- Troubleshooting technical issues during design, installation, and commissioning phases
- Keeping across evolving standards, equipment, and compliance requirements in the C&I; solar and BESS space
What You'll Bring
- A background in renewable energy engineering, technical support, or a related electrical/power engineering discipline
- Experience with commercial-scale solar design (battery storage experience highly regarded)
- Familiarity with relevant design software (e.g. PVsyst, AutoCAD, Helioscope) and Australian Standards (AS/NZS 3000, 4777, 5033)
- Comfortable managing multiple projects and stakeholders at once
- Robust communication skills, able to translate technical detail for non-technical clients
