Forensicare provides specialist forensic mental health services across13of Victoria’s 15prisons.This position based atRavenhall Correctional Centre in Melbourne's west, provides 75 prison-based custodial mental health beds as well as assessments and outpatient services provided in maximum-security forensic mental health complex within the medium-security prison.
About the Role:
JoinForensicare’sOutpatients Program at Ravenhall Correctional Centre as a Psychologist Grade 2, whereyou’llplay a vital role in delivering specialist forensic mental health care.
Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will provide assessment, intervention, and clinical management to men in custody,
supporting their mental health recovery and reducing reoffending risk. This is a unique opportunity to apply yourexpertisein a challenging yet highly rewarding forensic setting.
Duties:
In this role, you will:
- Deliver comprehensive psychological assessments (including psychometric and diagnostic assessments)
- Provide individual and group therapeutic interventions toaddressthe mentalhealth needsofforensic clients
- Contribute to risk assessment and risk management alongside the clinical team
- Prepare clinical and court reports where required
- Support case formulation, treatment planning and program development
- Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies to ensure integrated care
- Maintain robust therapeutic relationships with consumers and stakeholders
About You:
- Experience in mental health and/or forensic settings (highly regarded)
- Strong clinical skills in mental health assessment, intervention and treatment
- Knowledge of forensic assessment, risk assessment, and offender rehabilitation
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent communication skills, including report writing and court liaison
- Commitment to consumer recovery and continuous professional development
What you need:
- Hold general registration as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia(PsyBA).
