As an advanced child protection practitioner,you willreceive and assess reports of alleged abuse and neglect of children and young people.Conduct investigations and develop plans to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children and young people. This may include taking matters to court. You will often be dealing with more complex cases and willoperatewith an increased level of autonomyappropriate forthe role.

- CommencementSalary of $100,894 to $114,476 per annum (plus superannuation)

Key responsibilities:

- Conducting risk assessments and investigations




- Managing complex cases, problem solving and presenting matters to the Children's Court of Victoria asrequired
- Being responsible forsupporting and developing Beginning Child Protection Practitioners in the integration of theory and practice whiledemonstratingyourexpertisethrough case practice
- Determiningcase plans (including stability plans, culturalplansand therapeutic treatment plans) for the safety and wellbeing of children
- Delivering case practice and case management services for children and young people who are either living with family or placed in out of home care.

Our recruitment process

- Preferred candidates will have a social work, welfare, psychology relatedqualificationand/or relevant experience
- Ideally, you will have a minimum of two years' case work or similar relevant experience in child and family social work
- Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa necessary for the nature of the position
- Shortlisted candidatesare required toundertake psychometric assessments followed by attending a virtual online assessment centre on Wednesday 02 September 2026
- Relevant pre-employment screening andreference checks will berequired
- Successful candidatesare required toattend 5 weekmandatorypractice induction program
