The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra is seeking expressions of interest for the permanent position of Associate Concertmaster. Selected candidates may need to submit a recording to support their application. The selection process includes an initial shortlisting, followed by invitations for a 'pre-trial' period where musicians will perform orchestral pieces and audition repertoire live. After the pre-trials, a full trial will be offered to the preferred candidate. The Associate Concertmaster will perform various duties, including leading the orchestra in the absence of the Concertmaster, preparing solos, and assisting with section leadership and bowings. Candidates should have significant qualified orchestral experience, strong leadership skills, and a high standard of technical skill and musicality. This position is open to all nationalities.
