We are seeking an experienced and proactive Irrigation Manager to oversee the irrigation operations of our almond orchard in the Griffith region.

The Irrigation Manager will be responsible for managing irrigation scheduling, water management, system performance and ongoing optimisation to support healthy crop growth and maximise orchard productivity.

This role requires a hands-on irrigation specialist who can combine practical field knowledge with data-driven decision making to ensure efficient water use, reliable irrigation performance and high-quality production outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage day-to-day irrigation operations across the almond orchard.
- Develop and implement irrigation programs aligned with seasonal crop requirements.
- Monitor soil moisture, weather data and crop requirements to optimise water scheduling.
- Operate and maintain irrigation systems, pumps, filtration systems and associated infrastructure.
- Identify and resolve irrigation issues to minimise downtime and maximise efficiency.
- Monitor water usage,



system performance and irrigation data to drive continuous improvement.
- Coordinate irrigation maintenance, repairs and upgrades with contractors and suppliers.
- Assist with fertiliser application programs through fertigation systems where required.
- Maintain accurate irrigation records and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety, environmental and water management requirements.
- Work closely with the Farm Manager and senior management to improve orchard performance and sustainability.

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking an experienced irrigation professional with a strong understanding of horticultural irrigation systems and a passion for productive water management.

- Proven experience managing irrigation systems within almond, horticulture or similar intensive agricultural operations.
- Strong knowledge of irrigation scheduling, water efficiency practices and crop water requirements.
- Experience with pumps, filtration, fertigation and irrigation infrastructure.
- Ability to interpret irrigation data and make informed operational decisions.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a practical, hands-on approach.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage priorities effectively.
- A strong commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
- Experience with modern agricultural technology, irrigation controllers and data management systems.
