About the Role

As the Grounds and Gardens Officer, you will play a key role in maintaining the presentation, safety and functionality of the school's extensive grounds. You will be responsible for proactive grounds maintenance, identifying improvement opportunities and ensuring the property is maintained to the highest standard.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Prune trees, shrubs, and hedges for safety and appearance
- Weed, mulch, fertilize, and maintain garden beds and landscaped areas
- Maintain paved areas, external facilities and general property presentation including rubbish removal
- Conduct basic irrigation system checks and manual watering
- Undertaking minor maintenance repairs and reporting larger maintenance requirements.
- Event set‑ups




- Maintain plant and equipment used for gardens and grounds
- Maintain respectful, professional conduct
- Work closely with the Facilities Manager, school staff and contractors to plan future works
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements.

About You

You are a reliable, proactive and client‑focused professional who enjoys working independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

You will bring:

- Previous experience in grounds, gardens or landscape maintenance
- Knowledge of horticultural practices, plant identification and plant care
- Experience operating gardening equipment and machinery
- A current Chemical Users/Weed Spraying Certificate
- A current Working with Children Check
- A current National Police Check
- A current Australian Driver Licence
- Strong communication skills and a positive, can‑do attitude
- A passion to deliver outstanding service and maintain high presentation standards
- A professional “can do” attitude and consultative approach to tasks and ideas
- Strong work ethics, including the ability to work autonomously, or as part of a team
