About the Role

As a Business Systems Accountant, you will bridge the gap between finance, technology, and business operations.



You will ensure Council's financial systems support robust management accounting practices, including budgeting, forecasting, cost centre reporting, and performance analysis. Through continuous system improvement and stakeholder collaboration, you will help deliver reliable financial information, productive processes, and greater organisational insight to support informed decision-making.

Reporting to the Team Leader – Finance Business Partners the core responsibilities include:

- Maintain and optimise Council'sfinancial managementsystems (e.g.TechnologyOne) to support budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, and performance analysis, ensuring system integrity, reliable financial data, and alignment with business and stakeholder requirements.

Process Improvement & Automation

- Provide expert advice and support toidentify, design, and implement process improvements and automation opportunitiesincluding managing updates and upgrades and new featuresto enhance efficiency, data accuracy, and user experience across finance functions.

Data Integrity & Reporting

- Develop reports to enable theFinance Business Partnerteam to deliver data needs to the organisation, with the aim to improve self-service across finance and non-finance users.Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data, including chart of accounts and system configurations, while supporting the delivery oftimelyand insightful financial and management reports.
