About the role

High End Stone Masons Pty Ltd is seeking skilled Stonemasons and Stoneworkers to join our team in Townsville, QLD. This is a casual position that offers flexibility whilst working on high-quality stone masonry projects. As a Stonemason, you will be responsible for crafting, shaping, and installing stone materials to reinstate Heritage listed stone walls. This role is central to our reputation for excellence in the building trades and allows you to demonstrate your craftsmanship on prestigious projects throughout the region.

What you'll be doing

- Measuring, marking and cutting stone materials according to specifications and design requirements

- Shaping and dressing stone using hand tools, power tools and specialist equipment

- Preparing mortar and other binding agents to specified consistency and composition

- Laying and setting stone materials, ensuring accuracy, alignment and structural integrity

- Inspecting completed work to ensure quality standards and aesthetic finish meet project requirements

- Maintaining tools and equipment in safe working order

- Adhering to site safety protocols and building codes throughout all projects

- Collaborating with other tradespeople and site supervisors to ensure project timelines are met

What we're looking for

- Proven experience working as a Stonemason or in a similar stone trades role

- Proficiency with both traditional hand tools and modern power tools used in stone masonry

- Understanding of various stone types, their properties and appropriate applications





- Knowledge of safety regulations and building codes relevant to masonry work

- Ability to work accurately to tight tolerances and maintain high-quality finishes

- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour, including lifting heavy materials

- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills

- Reliability and willingness to work flexibly as required by project demands

- Relevant qualifications or certifications in stone masonry are highly valued
