AllControls is seeking a skilled Junior Workshop Mechanical and Electrical Technician to join our team in Bayswater North, VIC. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to work on a variety of mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks in a fast-paced workshop environment. You will be responsible for wiring and repairing panels, and maintaining a range of equipment and systems, playing a crucial role in ensuring our operations run smoothly and efficiently. This role combines hands-on technical work with problem-solving expertise, making it ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic workshop setting.

Key responsibilities

- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on mechanical and electrical equipment to identify and resolve issues before they upscale
- Experience in general mechanical & electrical fitting is preferred.
- Repair and replace faulty components, ensuring all work meets safety standards and quality specifications
- Assemble, disassemble, and reassemble equipment according to technical specifications and drawings
- Building gas/oil burner assemblies including electrical wiring/installation
and gas trains.
- Manufacturing gas control panels and valve/gas train assemblies and pressure proving equipment
- Servicing gas regulators and meters
- Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and parts replacements in accurate work records
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure productive workflow and timely completion of projects
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment in compliance with health and safety regulations
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems using appropriate diagnostic techniques
- Maintain and calibrate tools and testing equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability

What we’re looking for

- Experience in mechanical maintenance and electrical wiring, is desired plus a thirst to learn
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance manuals
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, circuits, and safety protocols,



including lock-out/tag-out procedures
- Competency in using hand tools, power tools, and specialised diagnostic equipment
- Experience in working with gas/oil burners, gas pressure regulators and meters
an advantage.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities with the capacity to think systematically through complex issues
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of workmanship
- Ability to work independently whilst also functioning effectively as part of a team
- Sound communication skills and the ability to document work accurately
- Current understanding of workplace health and safety regulations and best practices
- A valid driver's licence is desirable
