About the Role
As an Apprentice Mechanical Fitter, you'll work alongside experienced tradespeople to develop the skills required to install, maintain and repair conveyor systems and mechanical equipment across mining and industrial sites.
This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same, offering real-world experience while you complete a nationally recognised Mechanical Fitter apprenticeship.
What You'll Be Doing
- Assist qualified Mechanical Fitters with maintenance and repairs.
- Learn to install and service conveyor systems and mechanical equipment.
- Safely use hand and power tools.
- Read and interpret drawings and work instructions.
- Participate in shutdowns, breakdowns and planned maintenance activities.
- Maintain a safe and organised work environment.
- Complete your apprenticeship training and trade studies.
About You
You’ll be someone who is reliable, motivated and eager to build a career in the mechanical trades.
Ideally, you’ll have:
- A genuine interest in mechanical fitting.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn.
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Commitment to working safely.
- Positive communication and teamwork skills.
- Current Driver's Licence (or working towards obtaining one).
- Previous experience using hand or power tools, or experience in mining, manufacturing, construction or maintenance is highly regarded but not essential.
