Maroondah Kids Early Learning Centre – Croydon VIC
Maroondah Kids Early Learning Centre is seeking a passionate and dedicated Diploma Educator to join our team on a part-time basis (3-5 days of work) in Croydon, VIC. This role is fundamental to delivering high-quality early childhood education and care to our young learners. As a Diploma Educator, you will play a vital role in creating nurturing, stimulating environments where children can learn, grow and develop. You will work collaboratively with our team to implement the National Quality Framework and provide exceptional care that supports each child's individual development and wellbeing.
Key responsibilities
- Provide direct care, supervision and education to children across designated age groups in accordance with centre policies and educational frameworks
- Plan, implement and evaluate developmentally appropriate learning activities that promote children's physical, social, emotional, cognitive and creative development
- Foster safe, inclusive and welcoming environments where all children feel valued and supported
- Maintain detailed observations and documentation of children's progress and developmental milestones
- Communicate regularly and respectfully with families regarding their child's learning, development and wellbeing
- Support children's transitions throughout the day and between learning experiences
- Maintain high standards of health, hygiene and safety practices within the service
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistency in approach and quality service delivery
- Respond sensitively to children's needs and provide appropriate support during challenging behaviours or emotional moments
- Participate in professional development and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
What we're looking for
- A valid Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent qualification)
- Current Working with Children Check clearance (or willingness to obtain)
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Demonstrated knowledge of the National Quality Framework and understanding of child development principles
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues
- Genuine passion for early childhood education and commitment to supporting children's holistic development
- Ability to work flexibly within a part-time schedule as required by the centre
- Sound understanding of child protection and safeguarding requirements
- Experience working in an early childhood education and care setting is highly valued
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a dedicated team
