At Richmind WA, our Recovery Support Workers play an significant role in supporting people experiencing mental health challenges to achieve their personal recovery goals. Working within a residential mental health service, you will provide practical and emotional support, promote wellbeing and independence, and contribute to a safe, welcoming and recovery-focused environment.

About the Role

Based at our Kelmscott residential service, you will work as part of a supportive team helping people navigate mental distress, build life skills and develop meaningful pathways towards recovery. The role is hands‑on, rewarding and varied, requiring strong communication skills, sound judgement and a genuine commitment to person‑centred practice.

Key responsibilities include:

- Supporting people to achieve their recovery goals and implement their recovery plans
- Providing practical and emotional support in a residential setting
- Supporting people to develop life skills, confidence and independence
- Promoting emotional wellbeing and helping people navigate periods of distress
- Engaging with family members, carers and significant others where appropriate
- Maintaining accurate documentation and case notes
- Participating in team meetings, supervision, training and quality improvement activities
- Contributing to a safe, welcoming and recovery-oriented environment

Desired Skills and Experience

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- A sound understanding of recovery‑oriented and person‑centred mental health practice
- Experience working in mental health, community services, disability, residential services or another relevant human services setting
- The ability to support people experiencing mental distress with empathy, professionalism and respect
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
- Well‑developed organisational and documentation skills
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

Qualifications





You will hold a relevant Certificate IV qualification (or higher) in a human services‑related field or be able to demonstrate equivalent relevant experience.

Qualifications may include:

- Certificate IV in Mental Health
- Certificate IV in Community Services
- Diploma in Mental Health
- Diploma in Community Services

Experience working in residential mental health services is highly regarded.

This is a Permanent Part-Time position based in Kelmscott .

The roster for this position is fixed and cannot be changed. Applicants must be available to work the roster. The roster includes day shifts (6:45-14:45), afternoon shifts (14:30-22:30 and 15:00-23:00), overnight shifts (22:00-7:00) and weekends shifts which include 6:45-14:45, 14:30-22:30, 15:00-23:00 and 23:00-7:00.
