At Livability Care, our dedicated team ensures that participants are matched to the right home depending on their likes, desires and goals. Due to continual organisational growth, Livability Care Australia is looking for experienced Disability Support Workers in the following places:
Peachester, Sunshine Coast, Queensland 4519
Burpengary, Queensland 4505
Bray Park, Queensland 4500
As a Disability Support Worker, you will be dedicated, values oriented, and focused on client choice and control. In this role, you will be required to support our participants' with disabilities to achieve their goals and build skills in areas such as cooking, reading, writing, technology and exercise. You will work to ensure that all people feel empowered and supported no matter their ability level. You will be flexible to work across AM, PM and Night Shifts (passive/active) and be willing to travel.
The Role:
The day to day activities of the role include, but are not limited to:
Follow person-centred support plans and positive behaviour support plans (PBSP's)
Assisting with daily routines (morning and bedtime)
Participating in activities of particular interest, social activities, community outings
Supporting with transport for medical appointments, shopping and family visit
Day to day personal tasks including personal care
Assisting with household tasks (including cooking, cleaning, washing, meal preparation)
Assisting with medication (including managing diabetes)
Assisting with personal choices (including smoking)
Document participants' progress through record keeping
Comply with LCA's procedures when reporting incidents
Your role will build meaningful, positive relationships with our clients and their families, playing a vital role in enriching our participants' lives.
Our Ideal Candidate:
Previous qualified experience with complex participants (preferable)
Demonstrated experience working with participants with mental health conditions and dementia
An understanding of the NDIS and how to follow support plans
Experienced with challenging behaviour preferred
Excellent communication skills, and a compassionate approach

Your Essential Skills & Qualifications:
Must have Certificate 3 or higher in Individual Support/Disability or related field
NDIS Clearance
Australian Driver's Licence
Medication Administration Certificate
Any additional skills including understanding of DDA Drugs, diabetes management and behaviours of concern understanding is highly desirable!
