Oxley
Walcha Council is seeking aWater and Wastewater Operator. This position is required to carry out a variety of tasks associated with the efficient and economical operation of Council's Water and Wastewater systems. This includes the treatment and reticulation of town water, the collection and treatment of domestic sewerage, and trade waste for the Walcha Community.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Assist with the maintenance of the water reticulation system including reservoirs and off-creek storage
Assist with the maintenance of the water collection station including pump stations
Undertake water meter readings for the Walcha Community
Undertake water and wastewater sample tests in accordance with legislative guidelines
Accurately complete and maintain administrative records in accordance with corporate record keeping and operational requirements
What You’ll Bring
Demonstrated knowledge of water reticulation systems; including maintenance, testing and operations.
Demonstrated experience in Water and Wastewater operations, or similar
Demonstrated commitment to working safely and follow safe systems of work
Certificate III in Water operations (desirable)
Class C drivers license
WHS General Construction Induction Card
Enter and work in confined spaces
Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position
What We Offer
This is a Permanent Full-Time (38 hours per week) starting at $1,237.70 (gross) + superannuation per week based on Band 1 Level 4, Grade 3 of the Local Government (State) Award 2026. You will also enjoy a Rostered Day Off every fortnight.
