Role Summary

About the role:
Build your hospital pharmacy experience this summer with Western Health!
Western Health is offering summer placement opportunities for pharmacy students interested in hospital pharmacy and research. This program provides hands‑on experience where you get to:
- Work alongside hospital pharmacists in clinical areas
- Contribute to audits and research projects that support patient care and service improvement across Western Health.
Throughout the summer placement, students will have the opportunity to gain valuable insight into hospital pharmacy practice, develop their professional skills, and have exposure to diverse career opportunities.
We are recruiting 6 temporary full-time positions (4-week placements) :
- Block 1 (3 positions): 23/11/2026 – 18/12/2026
- Block 2 (3 positions): 04/01/2027 – 29/01/2027
Key responsibilities
- Contribute to audits, quality improvement projects, and research projects
- Support medication dispensing and supply processes
- Assist with a range of pharmacy activities in accordance with organisational policies and procedures
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Current enrolment in 2nd or 3rd year Bachelor of Pharmacy or equivalent
- Interest in hospital pharmacy, research and quality improvement activities
- Demonstrated skills in communication and time management
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team
- Experience in Australian community or hospital pharmacy (desired)
