Smith St Bistrot' is seeking a talented and dedicated Commis Chef with some pastry exposure to join our dynamic kitchen team in Collingwood, VIC. As a Commis Chef, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef and Senior Chefs in the preparation and execution of high-quality, seasonal dishes for our discerning customers. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to develop your culinary skills in a fast-paced, professional environment.
What you'll be doing
- Assist the Head Chef and Senior Chefs in the daily preparation and cooking of menu items
- Ensure high standards of food quality, presentation and timely delivery of dishes
- Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic work station
- Follow all health and safety protocols and uphold our high food safety standards
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of kitchen processes and procedures
- Collaborate with the wider kitchen team to deliver an exceptional dining experience for our customers
What we're looking for
- Culinary qualification or relevant experience in a fast-paced restaurant kitchen
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a team setting
- Passion for using fresh, seasonal produce to create innovative,
high-quality dishes
- Excellent time management and multitasking skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Enthusiasm for learning and developing your culinary skills
