We are a growing community services organisation delivering high-quality Disability Support Services and Out-of-Home Care (OOHC) programs. Our mission is to create positive outcomes for people with disability, children, young people, and families through person-centred, responsive, and accountable services.

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Part-Time Accountant to join our Finance Team at our Maryborough Head Office. This is an onsite position , ideal for an accountant who understands the unique financial and compliance requirements of the community services sector, particularly the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and government-funded programs. Reporting into the Finance Team, you will play a key role in supporting the organisation's financial operations while working closely with the finance Manager and team at our head office location.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer or Finance Manager, you will be responsible for managing the organisation’s financial operations, ensuring compliance with funding requirements, and providing accurate financial reporting across multiple service streams.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage day-to-day accounting and financial administration functions.
- Prepare monthly management reports, financial statements, and cash flow forecasts.
- Monitor and reconcile NDIS revenue, participant budgets, service agreements, and claims.
- Ensure accurate accounting and reporting of disability services and out-of-home care funding.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Prepare and lodge BAS and statutory obligations.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable functions.
- Undertake internal audits as per schedule.
- Coordinate year-end audit requirements and liaise with external auditors.




- Maintain funding acquittals and financial reports required by government departments and funding bodies.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, funding agreements, and organisational policies.
- Provide financial analysis and advice to support operational decision-making.
- Coordinate with real estate agencies to manage SIL and investment property finances, including rent payments, property expenses, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

Qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

CPA or CA qualification (or working towards) highly regarded.

Demonstrated experience in the disability, community services, health, or not-for-profit sector.

Strong understanding of NDIS funding models, claiming processes, and financial reporting requirements.

Experience managing and reporting on government-funded programs, including Department-funded services and funding acquittals.

Sound knowledge of Australian accounting standards and taxation requirements.

Advanced proficiency in accounting software MYOB, or similar platforms.

Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.

Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.

Experience in Out-of-Home Care (OOHC) services and associated funding arrangements.

Knowledge of SCHADS Award payroll requirements.

Experience with grant and contract management.

Understanding of regulatory compliance obligations within the disability and child welfare sectors.
