Solar Support Engineer | Smart Energy | Data Centres | AI-Ready Infrastructure
Are you excited by the future of energy, data centres, and AI-driven infrastructure? Do you want to work at the intersection of solar, storage, EVs, high-load facilities, and intelligent energy systems?
If you're looking for a role that goes beyond standard rooftop solar, Energis wants to hear from you.
About Energis
Energis is one of Australia's leading Smart Energy Solutions providers, delivering large-scale and commercial solutions across:
- Solar PV (C&I; and utility-scale)
- Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
- EV charging infrastructure
- Energy solutions for data centres, AI workloads, and high-consumption facilities
- Grid, hybrid, and behind-the-meter systems
We help businesses reduce energy costs, increase resilience, and future-proof their operations, with a strong focus on quality, compliance, and innovation.
About the Role
We're looking for a Solar Support Engineer to support our sales, engineering, and delivery teams across a growing portfolio of commercial, industrial, and advanced energy projects.
This role is ideal for someone who:
- Enjoys technical problem-solving
- Understands or is keen to learn about high-load environments (data centres, AI compute, manufacturing)
- Wants exposure to complex, multi-technology energy systems
Solar experience is valuable, but not mandatory - if you have strong electrical fundamentals and the right mindset, we'll train you.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with solar PV and hybrid system design to optimise performance and cost
- Support energy modelling, feasibility studies, and yield analysis
- Contribute to designs for data centres, AI facilities, and high-demand sites
- Assist with grid connection, interconnection studies, and commissioning support
- Support equipment selection (inverters, batteries, EV chargers, switchgear)
- Prepare quotations, cost estimates, and tender documentation
- Provide technical support to sales teams and clients
- Ensure compliance with Australian Standards and network requirements
- Liaise with contractors to resolve technical issues and finalise installations
Bonus Skills (Highly Valued)
- Understanding of data centres, AI compute loads, or critical infrastructure
- Experience with high-capacity electrical systems
- Familiarity with energy storage, load management, or VPP concepts
- Ability to think beyond "standard solar" solutions
Who We're Looking For
- Strong communication skills (phone, email, client-facing)
- A consultative mindset - you listen first, then design the right solution
- Qualifications in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
- Experience or interest in solar, storage, or advanced energy systems
- Solid problem-solving ability and attention to detail
- Valid Australian driver's licence
What We Offer
- Exposure to cutting-edge energy, data centre, and AI-related projects
- Direct access to and mentorship from company directors
- Flexible working arrangements
- Industry-leading products and ongoing training
- A collaborative, fast-growing team with real career progression
- The chance to help shape Australia's energy future
