Active Ageing Partnerships and Projects Officer

Location: City of Boroondara, VIC, AU. Contract type: Full-time permanent role, 38 hours per week. Salary: $104,790 - $114,015 plus superannuation, monthly RDO.

About the Role

Reporting to the Active Ageing Partnerships and Projects Coordinator, you will work closely with older residents, community groups, service providers and Council teams to understand local priorities and transform ideas into practical, inclusive initiatives. This varied role brings together research, feasibility analysis, project coordination, workshops, community engagement, grants coordination and implementation support giving you the opportunity to influence outcomes from concept through to delivery.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and deliver initiatives that build older people’s knowledge, confidence, independence and social connection.
- Coordinate projects from planning through to implementation and evaluation.
- Undertake research, needs analysis and feasibility assessments and prepare clear recommendations.
- Build productive relationships with residents, community groups, service providers and government stakeholders.
- Coordinate Council grant and community funding programs.
- Facilitate consultations, workshops, meetings and community activities.
- Prepare clear reports, briefings and stakeholder communications.
- Support events, pilots and programs directly in the community.

About You





You are a proactive project or community development practitioner who is motivated by meaningful community impact and comfortable moving between strategic thinking, stakeholder engagement and practical delivery. You build trust quickly, communicate with clarity and empathy, and can bring people together to explore ideas, manage differing expectations and deliver outcomes with confidence and professionalism.

What you will bring

- Experience delivering projects or community initiatives in local government, community services, health, ageing or a related setting.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and report-writing skills.
- An understanding of the needs, strengths and aspirations of older people.
- Experience in community engagement, workshops, capacity building or participation initiatives.
- Robust stakeholder and relationship management skills.
- Experience supporting grant or community funding programs.
- Initiative, sound judgement and the ability to manage competing priorities.

Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience.
