Position Title: Risk and Patient Safety Advisor
Classification: Dependent on qualifications
Salary per hour (exc. super): Dependent on qualifications

The Risk and Patient Safety Advisor supports Bendigo Health's patient safety and risk management functions through the coordination of risk, incident management and governance processes that promote safe, high-quality care. Working closely with clinical and operational teams, the role ensures compliance with risk management and patient safety frameworks, supporting the identification, assessment, review and management of clinical and corporate risks, incidents and patient safety events.
The Advisor oversees the management and monitoring of Incident Management, particularly Incident Severity Rating 1 and 2 reviews, supports mortality screening, coronial and medicolegal processes, and monitors the implementation of improvement actions and controls. Through data analysis, reporting, stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement activities, the role promotes organisational learning, strengthens patient safety outcomes and supports informed decision-making across the health service.

Your New Division
Quality and Risk provides leadership and support for quality, compliance, risk, patient safety, consumer experience and engagement and improvement and innovation across the organisation.
The division has responsibility for overseeing the risk management framework and compliance to various accreditations and legislative requirements and to ensure improvements are undertaken through our responses to recommendations arising from assessments. There is a strong strategic and operational focus of promoting and advancing continuous improvement, partnering with consumers, and supporting the organisation to review incidents, data and systems to improve patient outcomes and efficiency of the business. The division collaboratively provides high quality clinical governance support and advice, both internally and when supporting health services in the Loddon Mallee Health Services Network.
