As an Operations Manager at Pattern, you will play a vital role in overseeing the entire UK warehouse operations. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods are handled efficiently, safely, and cost-effectively. You will lead a dedicated team, manage budgets, and implement process improvements to support the company's growth and customer satisfaction objectives. What you'll do

- Manage all aspects of warehouse operations, including scheduling, receiving, storing, and dispatching goods to meet customer demands and operational targets.
- Oversee financial responsibilities, including preparing and managing the warehouse budget, controlling costs, and ensuring profitability.
- Take full P&L; responsibility for the warehouse operations, ensuring financial targets are met or exceeded through efficient resource management.
- Build, develop, and lead a high-performing team by recruiting, training, and motivating staff to achieve operational excellence.
- Monitor and improve warehouse processes, implementing best practices and lean methodologies to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Establish and maintain service level agreements (SLAs) with internal and external partners, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods.
- Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order accuracy, turnaround times, and inventory levels to identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with the Merchandise Planning team to align warehouse capacity and staffing with forecasted volumes and seasonal fluctuations.
- Source and negotiate with suppliers for consumables and equipment, ensuring cost-effective procurement and maintenance of warehouse facilities.




- Implement safety protocols and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations to maintain a protected working environment for all staff.
- Coordinate with logistics providers and carriers to optimize shipping routes, reduce transit times, and manage freight costs.
- Lead initiatives to enhance warehouse automation and technology use, staying updated on industry innovations that can improve operations.
- Prepare reports and presentations for senior management, providing insights into operational performance and strategic recommendations.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging team members to contribute ideas and participate in problem-solving activities.
- Manage inventory accuracy through regular audits and cycle counts, reducing discrepancies and loss.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements, including health and safety standards and environmental policies.

Requirements

- At least 5 years of experience managing warehouse, distribution, or supply chain operations, with proven P&L; responsibility.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, with experience building and managing effective teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Robust financial acumen, including budgeting, cost control, and vendor negotiations.
- Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS), logistics software, and industry best practices.
- Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma principles and methodologies for process improvement.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external partners.
- Fluency in English is essential, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing operational demands.
- A proactive approach to safety and compliance, with experience implementing health and safety protocols.
- Experience managing budgets and controlling costs within a warehouse or logistics environment.

- Experience with data analytics and reporting tools to monitor and improve operational performance.
- Familiarity with automation technologies and warehouse robotics.




- Knowledge of environmental sustainability practices within logistics and warehousing.
- Experience working with third-party logistics providers (3PLs).
- Background in ecommerce or retail supply chain operations.
