About The Role

The department's Family Day Care Programs oversees the delivery of high-quality home-based care for children through Family Day Care, Guardianship Family Day Care and Respite Care programs, in line with the National Quality Framework for early childhood education and care, the South Australian Children and Young People’s Safety Act and National Disability Insurance Scheme.

The Family Day Care Service Leader provides strategic oversight to the operation of up to six of the Department for Education’s Family Day Care services, with a primary focus on enhancing the quality of education on and care provided to children and the wellbeing of educators.

This entails providing leadership to a team of coordinators in the adoption of a statewide operating model that drives consistency in decision making,



fostering collaborative partnerships with families and educators, providing strength-based support and driving a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Essential: Nil

Desirable: Diploma level qualification Early Childhood Education and Care. Relevant tertiary qualification.

Special conditions

The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry.

The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

Remuneration

ASO6 $105,747- $111,854 per annum (1.0 FTE) + superannuation (12%) and leave loading
