About the Role

Due to an exciting period of growth, we are currently seeking an experienced Product Development Engineer to join our team. The Product Development Engineer is a dedicated resource responsible for the ongoing development and optimisation of existing products as well as the research, design and manufacturing/prototyping of new products and systems. This role combines the technical aspects of Engineering with the practical application of research and development to meet the needs of our customers and the requirements of the industry more broadly.

Key responsibilities of this important role include, but are not limited to:

Undertake development and testing of prototypes and product concepts using a variety of engineering, testing and validation tools. Maintain a pipeline of product development projects and activities by prioritizing deliverables based on agreed timeframes.

Work closely with our Engineering and Field teams in concept testing, product performance and system applications according to standards, guidelines and customer specifications.

Analyse and propose product optimisations based on technical data collection. Ensure this intelligence informs ongoing product development and continuous improvement.

Maintain and evolve our database of industry developments relating to underground environments and incorporate learnings, insights and trends into our own product development.





Foster an environment of continuous improvement and innovation by establishing processes for input, feedback, analysis of product performance and develop plans for improvement integration.

About You

The successful candidate will come with at least 3 years’ experience in product development. Tertiary qualifications in a relevant engineering or related discipline is essential.

Strong analytical skills are essential along with a strong sense of curiosity and creative problem solving skills. Well-developed communication and report writing skills are essential, as well as the ability to clearly present technical ideas, findings and recommendations in writing.An understanding of CAD (Solidworks), and basic knowledge of ERP systems will also be useful in this role.

Adaptability and agility to manage multiple projects simultaneously to deliver objectives will be critical to success, along with the ability to plan a work schedule with strong organisational and time management skills.
