- High-Profile Tier 1 Initiative: Join a fully functional, integrated Program Management Office (PMO) embedded within a major Federal Government department, managing the complex financial lifecycle of a high-visibility digital investment program running through to mid-2028.
- Strategic Financial Influence: Partner closely with senior project leadership to deliver transparent financial governance and integrated commercial insights across six critical work packages, directly enabling effective executive decision-making.

Role & Responsibilities
- Financial Strategy & Control: Formulate, baseline, and manage the comprehensive program budget while establishing rigorous internal financial controls.
- Expenditure & Forecast Monitoring: Monitor ongoing program expenditure, maintain accurate rolling forecasts, and proactively identify or mitigate financial risks.
- Business Case Collaboration: Deliver vital financial modeling and advisory support to aid individual project business case development and comprehensive end-of-month financial reporting.
- Governance Compliance: Ensure all program sourcing, funding allocations,
and ledger balances adhere strictly to departmental financial policies and Commonwealth compliance standards.
- Strategic Advisory: Report directly to the Program Manager, delivering high-quality, timely financial insights to help optimize benefit realization and project tranches.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this position, you will ideally bring:
- Financial Management Toolkit: Proven experience operating as a Finance Manager or Senior Project Accountant tracking complex budgets within a large-scale enterprise or integrated PMO framework.
- Forecasting & Analytics: Strong capability in financial variance analysis, cost-benefit forecasting, and translating granular ledger data into clear executive dashboards.
- Core Capabilities: A modern, flexible, and highly collaborative approach with the communication skills needed to partner effectively with technical SMEs and division leaders.
- Government Frameworks: Comprehensive understanding of public sector financial management frameworks, public governance rules, and federal budgeting workflows.
Eligibility & Clearance Requirements
- Security Clearance: Due to the secure nature of this federal workplace, candidates must hold a current NV1 security clearance , with an NV2 clearance preferred.
