Advanced Child Protection Practitioner, After Hours Service

The Department of Families, Fairness and Housing are seeking dedicated and qualified professionals to join their Child Protection After Hours Program as Advanced (CPP4 level) Practitioners. The After-Hours Child Protection program is a state-wide service operating out of metropolitan and regional Victoria that responds to and manages all urgent child protection matters received outside core business hours, including weekends and public holidays. As part of this team, you will assess recent reports of potential child abuse or neglect and provide response, including investigation, plan development and emergency outreach visits as required.
In this role you will be required to work on a set, rotating roster that includes, day, afternoon and night shifts and will be entitled to applicable penalty rates and allowances.
Commencement Salary of$100,894to$114,476per annum(plus superannuation)
We have multiple opportunities available across the program as follows:
- Full time (76h p/f) positions in Mildura, Morwell or Bairnsdale and Wangaratta or Shepparton
- Part time (56h p/f) positions in Morwell or Bairnsdale, Ballarat, and Wangaratta or Shepparton
- Part time (38h p/f) positions in Mildura
- Part time (20h p/f) positions in Mildura, Morwell or Bairnsdale and Wangaratta or Shepparton *These positions will be required to work to a fixed roster from 3pm to 1am on Saturday and Sunday. This roster attracts excellent penalties and there may be scope to pick up additional shifts, dependent on availability for those looking to increase their hours.
- Part time (60.8h p/f) position in Box Hill *This position will include an additional responsibility of management and coordination of placement referrals of children and young people in the After Hours service.
Essential to your success in this role is a relevant qualification in social work, welfare, psychology or community services coupled with a minimum of two years relevant experience in child protection and/or child, youth and family welfare involving case management, a Working with Children Check and Driver's License.
