An prospect exists for an experienced Corporate Communications professional to join a large, purpose-driven organisation delivering essential services to the Victorian community.
Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Affairs & Engagement, this role sits within a high-performing strategic communications function and plays a key role in shaping how the organisation communicates with customers, stakeholders, government and the broader community.
This is a strategic communications position for someone who enjoys partnering with senior leaders, developing communication approaches for complex initiatives, managing reputational issues, and ensuring messaging is clear, consistent and aligned to organisational priorities.
Corporate Communications Manager
About the role
As the Corporate Communications Manager, you will act as a trusted advisor across the business, helping teams translate complex technical information into meaningful communications for diverse audiences.
Your focus will be on strategic planning, message development and communications governance, rather than high-volume content creation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing communication strategies and plans for major initiatives and projects
- Providing strategic communications advice to senior stakeholders
- Building and maintaining organisational messaging frameworks and key narratives
- Supporting reputation management and issues communications
- Leading the development of key corporate publications, including annual reporting and organisational planning documents
- Identifying communications risks and opportunities and recommending appropriate approaches
- Working closely with media, engagement and digital communications specialists to deliver integrated outcomes
- Ensuring communications are aligned across channels and stakeholder groups
- Monitoring stakeholder sentiment and emerging issues to inform communication strategies
About you
You are a strategic communications professional who can confidently operate in complex, highly regulated or stakeholder-rich environments.
You are comfortable working autonomously, building credibility with senior stakeholders and providing advice that balances organisational objectives with community expectations.
You will bring:
- Significant experience in corporate and strategic communications
- Strong communication planning and stakeholder engagement capability
- Experience developing communication strategies, frameworks and key messaging
- Demonstrated experience managing reputational and sensitive communications issues
- Exceptional writing, editing and message development skills
- Experience advising senior leaders and influencing outcomes
- Strong understanding of contemporary communication channels, including digital and social media
- The ability to quickly understand complex issues and translate them into clear, audience-focused communications
Experience within government, infrastructure, utilities, regulated industries or other complex stakeholder environments will be highly regarded, however transferable strategic communications experience is equally valuable.
