Full Stack Developer (React / Python / AI Platform)
Initial 6 month contract + extensions available

In collaboration with the Queensland State Government we're looking for a Full Stack Developer to build modern, scalable applications that sit at the intersection of user experience and AI-driven insights. You're key role in delivering intuitive, staff-facing tools powered by an advanced knowledge and AI platform, enabling smarter decision-making through natural language interaction.
What you'll be doing
- Design and build responsive single-page applications using React
- Develop Python-based APIs and backend services
- Create reusable components to support multiple applications on a shared platform
- Integrate front-end interfaces with AI-powered services and knowledge graph capabilities
- Develop and deploy cloud-native solutions in AWS (serverless and containerised)
- Implement efficient data integration across structured and unstructured sources
- Collaborate with architects and stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions
- Ensure performance, security, and maintainability of applications
- Contribute to testing, deployment, and continuous improvement
- Apply best practices in clean code, version control, and documentation
What you need to bring
- Solid experience with React (SPA development,
component architecture, state management)
- Solid Python development experience (FastAPI, Flask, or similar frameworks)
- Proven experience delivering full stack applications end-to-end
- Hands-on experience with AWS services
- Experience building AWS Lambda serverless solutions
- Experience with containerisation (Docker, ECS, Kubernetes)
- Experience working with SQL and/or NoSQL databases
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design and integration
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively
Bonus points for
- Exposure to AI/ML or generative AI applications
- Experience with AI platforms such as Amazon Bedrock
- Knowledge of graph databases (e.g. Neo4j)
- Familiarity with GraphRAG or retrieval‑augmented generation approaches
- Experience with agent‑based systems or AI integration frameworks
- Understanding of DevOps practices (CI/CD, infrastructure as code, cloud security)
- Experience writing Terraform scripts
