A leading mid-tier audit practice is seeking experienced External Audit Contractors to support a growing portfolio of clients through a busy audit period. With immediate requirements across multiple engagements, this is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing team and contribute to a range of complex and rewarding audit assignments.

We are looking for auditors who can quickly integrate into established teams, demonstrate strong technical capabilities, and confidently engage with clients and stakeholders. Flexible working arrangements are available, including Sydney-based, Melbourne-based, and remote interstate options depending on engagement requirements (no visa sponsorship or overseas options).

The Opportunity You will work across a diverse client portfolio, supporting the delivery of high-quality external audit engagements. The successful contractors will have the prospect to contribute immediately across a range of industries and regulatory environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Planning, executing, and completing financial statement audits
- Performing risk assessments and testing key financial controls
- Leading audit sections and ensuring workpapers meet professional and regulatory standards
- Managing client communications and resolving audit queries efficiently
- Assisting with audit reporting and completion activities




- Supporting and mentoring junior team members where required
- Contributing to the delivery of high-quality client outcomes within agreed deadlines

Preferred Experience – Financial Services

We are particularly interested in candidates with external audit experience across financial services, including:

- Private Equity Funds
- Growth Capital Funds
- Venture Capital Funds
- AFSL Audits
- Compliance Plan Audits

This experience will be highly regarded for key assignments within a significant financial services portfolio.

Additional Industry Experience

Broader commercial audit experience is also highly valued, particularly within:

- Hospitality
- Property
- Manufacturing
- Wholesale & Retail

Auditors with diverse industry exposure will be well positioned to contribute across multiple engagements from day one.

About You

To be successful, you will ideally have:

- Recent external audit experience within a professional services environment
- Strong knowledge of Australian auditing and accounting standards
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Immediate or short-notice availability preferred
