Project Coordinator / Contract Administrator (Defence Building & Refurb)

The Company

Our client is one of Australia's leading engineering and remediation contractors, operating from 19 offices nationwide and delivering some of the country's most technically challenging building and infrastructure remediation projects.

With an outstanding reputation for quality, safety and project delivery, they specialise in Cladding Replacement, Defence Building, Refurbishment, Remedial Building, Facade Upgrades, and Protective Coatings across commercial, government, infrastructure and defence sectors.

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are looking to appoint a Project Coordinator / Contract Administrator to join their Canberra team.

This is an outstanding opportunity to join a highly respected contractor where you'll gain exposure to complex projects, work alongside experienced Project Managers and have a genuine pathway into a Project Manager position.

Working closely with experienced Project Managers, you'll play a critical role in the successful delivery of multiple defence building, remedial building and cladding replacement projects, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

- Assisting with the coordination and delivery of construction projects




- Preparing and managing project documentation
- Completing Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) documentation
- Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and material deliveries
- Undertaking quantity take-offs and procurement activities
- Preparing and administering subcontract agreements
- Managing project variations
- Processing invoices and progress claims
- Assisting with project cost control and reporting
- Attending client, consultant and site meetings
- Supporting the Project Manager with the successful delivery of multiple projects

About You

To be successful in this role, you must have:





- Previous experience in a similar Project Coordinator, Project Administrator, Contract Administrator or equivalent role within the construction industry(applications from client‑side organisations, engineering consultancies, project management consultancies, government agencies or small residential home builders will not be considered).
- Demonstrated project delivery experience, including coordinating project priorities, planning activities, quality assurance, stakeholder/client communication, subcontractor management, project documentation and statutory approvals
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage high volumes of project documentation across multiple projects
- The ability to effectively coordinate concurrent projects, manage competing priorities and meet key deadlines while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships
- A sound understanding of construction contracts, project administration processes and commercial cost controls
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project

Highly regarded but not essential

- Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Engineering or a related discipline
- Experience delivering Defence Building, Government, Cladding Replacement and Remedial Building projects
- Current Defence Security Clearance

Please note: This position is only suited to candidates with previous Building & Construction project coordination or contract administration experience. Unfortunately, applicants without relevant industry experience will not be considered.
