Early Childhood Intervention Practitioner
Location: Melbourne – North-East
Employment Type: Sub-Contractor, with pathway to PT and Full-time options available
Hourly Rate: $90–$120 per hour (depending on qualifications, experience and role)
We're a paediatric and young adult practice in Melbourne's north-east — an in‑house assessment team, senior speech pathologists and OTs, and long‑standing relationships with local paediatricians, schools and kinders. We're looking for Key Workers to join our growing team, supporting children (0–13 years) and young people (13–30 years) across home, education and community settings.
You focus on the core. We handle the rest.
- Our assessment team does the assessments. You meet the family with a picture already in front of you — not a blank page.
- Therapy pathways are already built. Goals, sequences and session structure are set. You're not writing a program from scratch.
- Senior clinicians provide oversight of your caseload
- Parent check‑ins are scheduled and supported. You're never alone in a difficult conversation.
- A clear agreement. Rates, travel, cancellations, what's billable and what isn't — all written down before you start. No grey areas. We have a lot of experience under this model.
Design your own schedule
- You set your availability, and you choose what you take on
- Most work sits close to home. You're not crossing the city between clients.
- Travel is paid — 50% of your hourly rate, plus $1/km.
- Hub‑based work is available too. 100% mobile isn't for everyone. We have clinic rooms, and you can build a mix that suits you.
More than a caseload
- Group programs , run alongside our therapists rather than solo
- School holiday programs — open to all kids, and genuinely good fun
- A real network. Established relationships with local kinders, schools and paediatricians. If you've been working on your own,
this is the part that's hard to build alone — and the reason most people call us.
In this role, you will:
- Deliver family‑centred and person‑centred supports under the NDIS and to private clients
- Work across our clinic hub, homes, early learning centres, schools and community settings
- Run goal‑based sessions and adapt them to the person in front of you
- Coach parents, carers and educators so progress continues between sessions
- Collaborate with families, educators, paediatricians and our therapy team
- Participate in team meetings, supervision and ongoing career development
We Are Seeking Qualified Professionals Including:
- Developmental Educators
- Early Childhood Teachers / Early Childhood Educators (degree‑qualified)
- Special Education Teachers
- Social Workers
- Counsellors
- Music and Play Therapists
- Other Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) Professionals with a bachelor's degree (or higher) in a relevant discipline and current registration or membership with their relevant professional body, where applicable
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant discipline
- Current registration or professional membership where applicable
- Experience working with children, young people and/or people with disability
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
- Current Working with Children Check
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Current National Police Check
- Current driver licence and access to a reliable vehicle
What We Offer
- $90–$120 per hour , based on qualifications and experience
- You set your availability
- Sub‑contract to start, with a genuine pathway to part‑time or full‑time (if desired)
- Supervision with a senior clinician, and free training
- A supportive, collaborative multidisciplinary team that uses music, movement and play in therapy — because it works, and because it's better that way
- Meaningful work that creates a lasting impact for children, young people and families
