About Us

For over 40 years Women’s Legal Service Victoria (Women’s Legal) has championed women’s rights to live free from violence. We are a dedicated team with a passion for working with women and non-binary people to live free from violence and discrimination by:

- Providing high quality integrated legal services for Victorian women and non-binary people who are victim-survivors of family violence and disadvantagedor marginalised by structural and systemic barriers.
- Building the capacity of professionals who work with women and non-binary people, to better
understandthe law and navigate the legal system safely.
- Advancing gender equality by challenging unsafe and discriminatory policies andlaws and informing and advocating for legal and policy initiatives that respect andpromote the rights of women and non-binary people.

About the Role

The Operations Lead, Legal Services role is a newly created role designed to help the Directorate run more smoothly by designing and improving the systems and processes that support high quality, client focused legal services. The role works closely with staff at all levels to drive operational discipline, better use of technology, and smarter, data informed decisions.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Operational Performance & Oversight

- Develop and implement systems tomaintainoperational governance and support operational discipline within Legal Services;
- Develop and drive communication structuresand processesthat support consistent information dissemination andtimely, useful information flow across theLegalServicesDirectorate;
- Deliver,supportand tracknew staffinduction to theLegalServicesDirectorate, to ensure consistent induction and training standards and onboarding experience;

2. Systems & Process Improvement





- Drive continuous improvement initiatives acrosstheLegalServices Directorate;
- Identifyopportunities for automation, workflow improvement, and scalability;
- Develop and implement processes and systems to meetidentifiedoperational inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and process gaps;
- Supportstaffto use the file managementsystemaccording tostandard,
- Develop processes and approaches to support staff to learn the technology systems
- Partner withourITprovider or other members of theOperations or Legal Services teams to improve tools and integrations.

About You

You will bring strong collaborative leadership, working confidently across teams and building trusted relationships that make things happen. Your show clear influence, ability to guide others and support positive change through communication and credibility. You thrive on staying resourceful, proactive and solutions driven when things shift or get complex communicating with clarity and confidence, helping people stay aligned, informed and motivated while contributing to a vibrant inclusive, and dynamic environment.

Key to your success is your:

- Capability to design and maintain consistent, effective operational systems with a strong client centred focus;
- Proficiency to apply analytical skills and confidently use digital systems (including practice management tools and SharePoint) to improve service delivery;
- Experience to turn operational needs into simple, usable systems, tools and processes; and
- An aptitude to build strong relationships, work across teams and encourage positive shifts in practice without needing formal authority.

You will:

- Bring 4+ years’ experience in operations within a law firm, professional services, and/or community services;




- Experience working within a legal service environment and a strong understanding of how legal teams work (highly desirable);
- Proven ability to implement and embed processes that lift accountability, transparency and practice quality; and
- Skilled in process mapping, workflow optimisation and change implementation.
