Insights Officer, Corporate Strategy Performance Insights

As an Insights Officer, you will play a key role in supporting evaluation and insights projects within the Victorian Government, including the Department of Health and the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing.

Your primary responsibilities will involveassistingwith data access, collection,preparationand management; quantitative analysis; coding and automation; data visualisation; dashboard development; and evaluation and monitoring activities.

In this role, you will focus on contributing to the completion of projects, managing your tasks efficiently, and integrating feedback to continuously improve your work. You will translate evidence into clear, practical insights that support the strategic and operational goals of the Victorian Government.

About you:

- Tertiary qualifications in economics, impact evaluation, data science, statistics, public health, epidemiology, social science, evaluation, applied analytics or another discipline with a solid quantitative component would be preferred.
- Applicants with qualifications in other fields and relevant analytical or evaluation experience will also be considered.
- Knowledge of program or policy evaluation.




- Practical experience using R and/or Python for data preparation and analysis. Experience with one or more of SQL, Power BI, Excel, statistical analysis, survey data analysis, data cleaning and transformation, dashboards or reproducible analytical workflows.
- Basic knowledge of financial modelling, economic evaluation and/or cost-benefit analysis is desirable
