The Clinical Project Manager is responsible for the development of clinical trial project plans that support the timely, compliant completion of clinical trials. This role is fundamental to ensuring effective communication and information sharing across the clinical trial team and organisation. The Clinical Project Manager is the single point of contact for external and internal stakeholders for the clinical trial.
The Opportunity
The Clinical Project Manager is responsible for the development of clinical trial project plans that support the timely, compliant completion of clinical trials. This role is fundamental to ensuring effective communication and information sharing across the clinical trial team and organisation. The Clinical Project Manager is the single point of contact for external and internal stakeholders for the clinical trial.
The Role
The Clinical Project Manager is responsible for the planning, execution, oversight and management of clinical trial execution from study award to completion. This includes managing study start-up, ethics and regulatory submission, site operations, reporting to sponsors and senior management, oversight of execution and delivery of projects, decision making, risk mitigation, safety and contingency plans, and reporting to ensure high quality clinical trial research and results. The role also involves communication with stakeholders, ensuring compliance, and contributing to quality improvement and safety measures to achieve trial milestones.
About You
To be successful in this position you will have excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated experience clinical trial project management. In addition, you will have well developed judgement and decision-making skills to prioritise conflicting demands and meet deadlines. You will also be a team player with the ability to support others in the team as needed.
You will possess:
- Bachelor’s degree in science/health/medical/ nursing field required.
- Previous clinical project management experience, within a clinical trial setting.
- Detailed understanding of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and prior experience in early phase clinical trials, particularly in Phase 1 clinical trials including health volunteer Phase 1 clinical trials is highly desirable.
- Robust interpersonal skills, confidence in management of sponsor and partner interactions, providing leadership within the project department to ensure issue management, demonstrate creative thinking mindset and problem resolution.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects at once and balance competing priorities, while collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure study timelines and quality standards are met.
- Understanding of quality and compliance and the importance of research outcomes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and communicate effectively with key stakeholders throughout the clinical trial process.
- High attention to detail and a strong ability to manage and ensure the accuracy of clinical trial data.
- Ensure strategic mindset and demonstrate problem solving skills to enhance relationships with partners and sponsors.
- Team-orientated mindset with a willingness to support colleagues within the organisation and contribute to the smooth operation of the clinical trials.
- Ability to adjust to various roles within the clinical trial, based on team needs and the evolving requirements of the study.
To protect the health and safety of participants, staff and other healthcare workers, vaccination for certain diseases is highly recommended for staff.
