Mazda Australia is seeking a Software Development Manager to lead our development team and drive the delivery of scalable, high‑quality software. Working closely with senior leaders and stakeholders, you'll champion modern engineering practices, foster innovation, and build a high‑performing culture that enables both people and technology to succeed.

This role requires a full‑time, on‑site presence, five days a week, to foster collaboration, strengthen team connections, and ensure seamless support across the business.

Key Responsibilities include:

- Lead, mentor and inspire a high‑performing software development team.
- Deliver business‑critical applications across the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Champion up-to-date engineering practices, including Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing and continuous improvement.
- Drive software development standards, frameworks and best practices.
- Identify opportunities to leverage emerging technologies, including AI‑assisted development, to enhance delivery and quality.
- Partner with business leaders to deliver innovative, scalable technology solutions.
- Oversee production support, governance and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead technical and cultural transformation to strengthen our software engineering capability.

About You:





You're a people‑focused technology leader who enjoys solving complex problems, developing others and delivering meaningful business outcomes through technology.

To be successful, you will have:

- A completed bachelor's degree or higher in Information Technology (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience leading software development teams in an enterprise environment.
- Experience delivering projects using Agile and Waterfall methodologies, with exposure to Agile or Lean transformations.
- Solid understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, TDD, BDD, and modern software engineering practices such as Domain Driven Design.
- Experience with AI‑assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code or similar.
- Demonstrated success delivering software solutions from concept to production.
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills.
- A passion for innovation, continuous improvement and building high‑performing teams.
