This role serves as a key technical leader and escalation point within the Field Services team, responsible for ensuring the delivery of high quality audio-visual (AV) support and service excellence. The successful candidate will balance hands on field operations—including resolving complex technical faults and conducting onsite maintenance—with operational management duties such as mentoring staff, streamlining service processes and acting as a technical liaison between clients, internal departments and external suppliers.

By championing company standards, promoting continuous improvement and providing expert technical guidance, you will assist the Field Service Manager in optimising team performance and ensuring that all service delivery meets quality benchmarks while consistently exceeding client expectations.

Key responsibilities

Attend to service calls, including attending to customer queries and faults raised.

Perform complex service, maintenance and repair work on client equipment and systems

Diagnose technical faults and implement effective solutions in line with industry standards and best practices

Maintain accurate records of service visits, repairs completed and parts used

Communicate with clients throughout service delivery to ensure satisfaction and manage expectations





Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies within the department

Provide mentorship and assist in training and development of technicians to build team capability

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies at all times

Provide onsite backfill for service technicians

What we're looking for

You hold a trade qualification in electronics, communications or audio visual (or demonstrate equivalent industry experience)

Proven experience in a supervisory or lead role

Strong technical knowledge and hands-on expertise in diagnosing and resolving complex AV/VC problems

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with both team members and clients

Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities simultaneously

Valid driver's licence, access to own vehicle and willingness to travel within the Melbourne area as required

Problem-solving mindset with the ability to think creatively and implement practical solutions

Robust organisational and time management skills

Australian citizenship to be able to obtain and hold AGSVA clearance.
