Shed House Australia is an innovative Australian design and kit home company supplying architectural steel-framed kit homes nationwide using our proprietary FutureFrame™ structural system.

As one of Australia's fastest-growing architectural kit home companies, we specialise in the sales, marketing, architectural design, structural engineering and supply of premium residential kit homes. Shed House Australia does not undertake residential building works. Instead, we partner with our clients, their consultants and a network of registered builders to deliver exceptional project outcomes.

This role carries no reliance on the successful applicant holding Home Building Compensation Fund (HBCF) insurance or equivalent builder licensing.

The Construction Technical Manager is responsible for providing technical leadership across the client journey, ensuring projects are technically coordinated, documentation is accurate and buildable, clients receive exceptional support, and construction-related issues are resolved efficiently.

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for an experienced construction professional who enjoys solving technical challenges, working collaboratively with clients, builders and consultants, improving systems and processes, and contributing to the growth of an innovative Australian business.

Position Purpose

The Construction Technical Manager is responsible for delivering an industry-leading technical and construction support experience for Shed House Australia clients.

Working closely with the Owners, Sales, Design Manager and Logistics & Procurement Manager, the role ensures architectural and structural documentation is reviewed & coordinated, technical issues are resolved promptly, builders and consultants receive practical support, and clients are guided confidently from design through to Kit delivery.

The role also drives continuous improvement across documentation, quality assurance processes, the FutureFrame™ system and digital technologies to improve efficiency, consistency and client outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Documentation Review & Quality Assurance

Review architectural & structural engineering documentation to ensure completeness, co-ordination, ease of interpretation and buildability.

Undertake Quality Assurance (QA) reviews to identify inconsistencies, clashes, omissions and technical risks before documentation is released, ensuring architectural documentation aligns with structural engineering documentation.

Identify opportunities to improve drawing standards, detailing and documentation quality.

Assist in maintaining the Shed House Australia (SHA) Design Guidelines and technical standards including working with others to develop the fomart of the SHA Design Guidelines for ease of interpretation, compliance and legibility.

Act as the primary technical contact for Clients / Builders throughout their project journey.

Troubleshoot construction, design and project-related issues, providing practical and commercially sound solutions.

Coordinate technical information between clients, consultants and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered efficiently.

Assist in resolving construction issues professionally while maintaining an exceptional client experience

Build strong working relationships with builders and industry partners to support successful project delivery.

Assist in developing efficient internal workflows and construction support processes to mitigate issues arising.

3. Window & Door Coordination

Review window and door quotations for compliance & accuracy with approved project documentation.

Identify inconsistencies between supplier quotations, architectural drawings and structural engineering documentation.

Contribute to the ongoing refinement and development of the FutureFrame™ system.



Identify opportunities to improve buildability, identify efficiencies and ensure ongoing regulatory compliance.

Assist in developing standard construction details, documentation and technical resources.

Obtain feedback from clients, builders and consultants to continually improve the product offering.

Champion continuous improvement throughout the business.

Identify opportunities to improve documentation, systems and the client experience.

Support the implementation of AI, automation and digital technologies across construction and technical functions.

Assist in developing scalable systems and processes that support the continued growth of Shed House Australia.

Skills & Experience

Extensive experience within the Australian residential construction industry.

Strong understanding of the National Construction Code (NCC2025), Australian Standards and residential construction practices.

Excellent practical construction knowledge and problem-solving ability.

Demonstrated experience reviewing architectural, structural and engineering documentation.

Experience undertaking quality assurance reviews of construction documentation.

Robust understanding of residential construction sequencing and buildability.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail.

Strong customer service focus with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.

Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.

Proactive, self-motivated and solutions focused.

Strong commercial awareness and sound judgement.

Experience with light gauge steel framing & cladding systems.

Experience with prefabricated, modular or kit home construction.

Residential estimating or costing experience.

Experience reviewing window, door schedules and quotations.

Experience using BIM, Revit or other digital construction platforms.

Exposure to construction management software and digital business systems.
