Our NSW Government client, is seeking a Data Analyst on a contract basis till the end of the year. In this role, you'll take ownership of database design, maintenance, and optimisation, working to ensure data systems run smoothly and securely across the organisation. You'll collaborate with project teams to understand requirements, implement solutions, and keep technical knowledge current in a rapid-moving environment.

- Design and maintain physical databases, with responsibility for performance tuning and system security
- Work across requirements analysis, database coding, and access control to protect sensitive information
- Contribute to process improvement and system administration across the data infrastructure

Requirements

- Solid experience in database management and performance tuning
- Strong requirements analysis skills and the ability to translate user needs into database design
- Proficiency in database security, access control, and data maintenance practices
- data analysis and insights generation through self-serve dashboards and reporting systems including a range of data analytics activities from various data sources, data validation, through to report automation and dashboard development.
- Problem-solving mindset with excellent documentation and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with system administration and a commitment to promoting process improvement
- Experience in working for the NSW Government or similar enterprise wide organisations.

Qualifications

- Qualification or demonstrated experience in database administration or a related IT discipline
- Knowledge of software development fundamentals and database architecture principles
- Professional development in data management or relevant technical certifications
