Our Service

Dubbo Neighbourhood Centre is a community-based organisation that operates five Outside of School Hours Care (OSHC) services in Dubbo. We care for mixed age children including preschool age children (4+ years) at one service and up to primary school aged children at all other services.

We are seeking an enthusiastic Responsible Person (RP) / Educator for after school care.

Key duties and responsibilities:

Leading a team of Educators as the 'Responsible Person' (RP) onsite.

Managing the day-to-day operations of the service with the overarching support of the OSHC Coordinator, Educational Leader and Nominated Supervisor.

Developing and facilitating an engaging child-centred weekly program and recording observations (office hours provided for weekly programming).

Active supervision of children in a caring environment.

Building and maintaining positive relationships with children, families and the team.

This role requires a strong commitment to child safety, including upholding and maintaining a child-safe environment, and adherence to mandatory reporting obligations.

Hours and pay rate:

The position is casual with permanent part-time hours available for the right applicant. Normal hours are Monday to Friday 2.30pm-6pm, with additional hours available during school holidays for vacation care and at before school care during the school term. For the right applicant, additional office hours may also be available with the possibility of a full-time position.

Pay rates are based on level of appointment and qualifications. As a guide, casual pay rates are:

Level 6: 47.87 per hour, plus superannuation (when Responsible Person holds an approved qualified);

Level 4: 43.31 per hour,



plus superannuation (Responsible Person, without approved qualifications);

Level 2: 37.11 per hour - Educator without a qualification (when not rostered as Responsible Person).

About you: Qualifications and experience be over 18 years of age. Hold a Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance. Hold or working towards a Certificate III or Diploma level Early Childhood education and care qualification (highly desirable) OR extensive child care experience. Current first aid, CPR, anaphylaxis and emergency asthma management (HLTAID012 or equivalent) or willing to obtain. Child protection certificate (CHCPRT025/CHCPRT001 or equivalent) or willing to obtain. Relevant experience to effectively supervise and manage the centre in day-to-day operations.ability to work after school care shifts between 2:30pm-6:00pm Monday-Friday in Dubbo NSW. Ability to work before school care shifts and during vacation care highly desirable. Be willing to undertake further screening checks to ensure your suitability for working with children.
