Division summary

The Prevention Division aims to prevent cancer for all Victorians. This is done through community interventions, mass media, advocacy, training and providing policy advice based on the best available evidence. This involves action to affect individual behaviours and the broader physical and legislative environment to reduce cancer risk. We prioritise health inequalities, especially in relation to Aboriginal people, and in culturally diverse and socioeconomically disadvantaged communities.

Unit summary

SunSmart is an evidence-based internationally renowned skin cancer prevention program, which aims to improve skin cancer prevention awareness, knowledge, attitudes and behaviour; support early detection of skin cancers; and advocate for policy and other measures to reduce the health and economic burdens of skin cancer.

About your prospect

We are seeking a SunSmart Coordinator to join the Prevention Division. Reporting to the SunSmart Programs Manager you will play a key role in coordinating the delivery of the Dermoscopy for Victorian General Practice Program and supporting other initiatives that strengthen the health workforce's capacity in skin cancer prevention and early detection.

In this role you will:

- Work with the SunSmart team and Centre Behavioural Research Division to coordinate the implementation and evaluation of the Dermoscopy for Victorian General Practice Program.
- Assist with program enquiries,



applications and participant communications.
- Manage the delivery of online learning, webinars and professional development events for health professionals.
- Develop and maintain evidence-based resources and tools for health professionals.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams including communications, researchers and external partners to support program delivery and continuous improvement.

All about you

We are looking for a highly organised and proactive coordinator who enjoys managing competing priorities and building strong stakeholder relationships. We are looking for someone with:

- Relevant tertiary degree in public health, health promotion or related field and/or experience
- Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve complex problems in a timely mannerStrong organisational and time management skills, including the ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop and maintain working relationships with health professionals and other internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to carry out duties professionally, with tact and diplomacy ensuring privacy and confidentiality requirements are maintained
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Advanced skills in MS Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

- Salary: $76,411 to $82,291 base salary per annum (pro rata for part-time), commensurate with experience, plus 12% superannuation and 17.5% annual leave loading.
